The Association of Dundas Churches

Knox is pleased to be a partner in this active organisation that serves the Dundas community with other local churches including St. James Anglican, St. Augustine Roman Catholic, St. Paul’s United, St. Mark’s United, Dundas Baptist, Christian Life Assembly and Salvation Army Agencies and Christian Science Society

Clergy and lay-people meet monthly to plan and organize events such as:

  • Annual Candlelight Advent Walk (first Sunday in Advent- held in various churches)
  • Lenten Lunches (held on each Wednesday of Lent at St. Paul’s United, hosted by the various churches) with donations given received to the Dundas Food Bank , Good Food Box and the Routes Youth Centre
  • Participation in the Dundas Cactus Festival Parade
  • Meetings with politicians and specialists to stimulate advancement of action on variety of matters related to poverty, housing, the environment, civic responsibilities. Recently hosted/sponsored an all-candidates mayoral meeting and debate.

Presbyterians Sharing

Presbyterians Sharing is the national church fund that supports the overall mission and ministry of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Congregations commit to raising an accepted allocation each year. Through Presbyterians Sharing, our church shares in a wide range of ministries in Canada and around the world. Together, we: encourage and equip congregational renewal and development, support inner city, native and refugee ministries , send mission personnel to work with international partners, equip congregations for education, worship, evangelism, stewardship, youth ministries and justice work, facilitate short term mission experiences, support theological colleges and encourage and support ministry candidates and new clergy.

Presbyterian World Service & Development

Presbyterian World Service & Development is the development and relief agency of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. PWS&D raises funds directly from congregations and individuals and through government grants – over and above gifts to Presbyterians Sharing. Through Presbyterian World Service & Development, our church responds internationally to: promote food security, provide aid in times of conflict and disaster, improve health and nutrition for families, increase access to water and sanitation, promote education and economic empowerment and protect human rights and refugees. Together, we work with local partners overseas, as well as through membership in ecumenical organizations like Canadian Foodgrains Bank, ACT Alliance, and Canadian Churches in Action.
